Turmstraße (Berlin U-Bahn)
Turmstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U9. The station is located in fare zone A. It was opened in 1961 and designed by B.Grimmek.
Turmstraße was originally built with an extra track under U5 which is now used for technical purposes, and it is part of the wholesale construction, pre-constructed with the U9 station since 1957, as the plans were unveiled in the 200km Berlin U-Bahn masterplan. Due to the bad planning, the closure of Tegel Airport was postponed indefinitely, the fate of the U5 platforms is uncertain.[1]
