Mandapeta is a town in East Godavari district in the India state of Andhra Pradesh. It is famous for Godavari brand ghee.[4]
Geography
Mandapeta is located at 16°31′N 81°34′E / 16.52°N 81.56°E.[5] It has an average elevation of 16 metres (52 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[6] Mandapeta had a population of 47,115. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Mandapeta had average literacy of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 65% and female literacy is 59%. In Mandapeta, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
