Matthew Sean Wells (born November 26, 1990) is an American football linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). The New England Patriots drafted Wells with the 178th pick of the 2015 NFL draft.[1]

He played college football for Mississippi State in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014,[2] where he started 33 games.

Professional career

New England Patriots

Wells was drafted in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL draft by the New England Patriots.[3]

Chicago Bears

On August 10, 2015, the Patriots traded Wells to the Chicago Bears for Ryan Groy.[4] On September 5, 2015, he was released by the Bears.[5]

St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams

On November 10, 2015, the St. Louis Rams signed Wells to their practice squad.[6] On December 1, 2015, he was released from practice squad.
