A. J. Derby (born September 20, 1991) is an American football tight end for the New England Patriots of the National Football League.[1][2][3] He initially played college football as a quarterback at Iowa (2010–2011), Coffeyville Community College and Arkansas in 2013 before switching to tight end in 2014.[4] Despite his senior season ending in injury he was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 2015 NFL Draft.

On August 5, 2015 Derby was placed on injured reserve after clearing waivers.
