James Rittenhouse Develin (born July 23, 1988) is an American football fullback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Brown University as a defensive end.
Professional career
Develin has also played for the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of the Arena Football League, the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League and has been a practice squad member of the Cincinnati Bengals.[1]
In Week 13 of the 2013 season, Develin scored his first career rushing touchdown on a 1-yard run against the Houston Texans. He scored his first receiving touchdown during the 2014 AFC Championship against the Indianapolis Colts. Develin caught one pass for 6 yards in Super Bowl XLIX against the Seattle Seahawks, which the Patriots won 28-24.
On September 1, 2015, the New England Patriots placed Develin on season-ending injured reserve after he broke his right tibia in a pre-season game against the Carolina Panthers.[2]
Develin re-signed with the Patriots to a one-year contract on March 7, 2016.
