Miss Perú 1977

Maria Isabel Frias was chosen as Miss Peru 1977. Prior to her selection she was the Second Runner up in Miss Peru 1975 Pageant. Frias is a professional model and appeared in commercials.

Frias placed among the top 10 at Miss Maja 1976, and was crowned Reina de Playas y Piscinas de América on January, 1977.

She was handpicked by the Miss Peru Organization for both, Miss Universe 1977 ^[1] and Miss World 1977.

One of the seven delegates from Peru who competed at both Pageants, Frías and Madeline Hartog-Bel were the only two who reached the semifinals in Miss World.^[2]
