Miss Thailand World is a national pageant, in which the winners compete in the Miss World beauty pageant and whoever is voted to have a beautiful Chinese complexion is selected to participate in Miss Chinese International. Miss Thailand World is not related to the previous Miss Thailand or Miss Universe Thailand pageants.

The reigning Miss Thailand World is Thunchanok Moonnilta, who was crowned on August 15, 2015, in Bangkok by Nonthawan Thongleng, Miss Thailand World 2014. Thunchanok Moonnilta represented Thailand at the Miss World 2015 pageant in China.[1]

History

In 1985, BEC-Tero Entertainment Pcl. (Channel 3) was awarded the rights to host the Miss Thailand World pageant and to send a Thai representative to compete at Miss World. Parnlekha Wanmuang was crowned the first Miss Thailand World in 1985.[1]

Performance at Miss World

In 1989, Prathumrat Woramali, as Miss Thailand World 1989, was Thailand's representative at Miss World 1989 in Hong Kong. She won the Queen of Asia Award, and later became the third runner-up Miss World 1989.

In 1992, Methinee Kingpayhom, as Miss Thailand World 1992, won Queen of Asia in Miss World 1992.

In 1994, Patinya Thongsri, as Miss Thailand World 1994, was announced as Thailand's first ever Miss Personality in Miss World 1994.

In 1997 at Baie Lazare, Seychelles, Tanya Tiana Suesuntisook, as Miss Thailand World 1997, won Miss Personality and was ranked as the 4th runner-up Miss World 1997.

In Miss World 2001 at Sun City, South Africa, Lada Engchawadechasilp received Miss Photogenic Award.
