Miss Fiji is a national Beauty pageant in Fiji.

History

The Miss Fiji pageant established in 1956[1] and official national pageant to select representative at International pageants. Officially, Miss Fiji winner will be competing at Miss South Pacific pageant.[2] Fiji has two winners from the pageant in 2009 Merewalesi Nailatikau and 2011 Alisi Rabukawaqa. The Miss South Pacific had become the most prestigious International pageant in pacific area after Miss Asia Pacific International pageant.

Additionally, Fiji sent the winner for Grand Slams beauty contests which are Miss Universe,[3] Miss World,[4] Miss International,[5] Miss Earth[6] and Miss Tourism Queen International.[7]

In 2012 another contest which called as Miss World Fiji pageant will select the representative of Fijian to compete at Miss World pageant.[8] Meanwhile, You & Me Talents Fiji directed by Atu Ravatu,[9] an organization licensed business in the Republic of Fiji Islands under Section 4 of the Registration of Business Act had become the national franchise holder of Miss Earth.

In 2014 Miss Earth Fiji together joined with Miss Earth Tonga and Miss Earth Samoa to select the three queens for the Miss Earth headed by Mr. Tito Lavashe Couture-Stowers.[10]

Miss Fiji sent the official winner in every pageant by separate pageant every year. Miss World Fiji for Miss World, Miss Earth Fiji for Miss Earth and Miss Fiji for Miss Universe (1979 and 1981) and Miss South Pacific which is now called the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant.[11]
