Ningbo Zhicheng School International (NZSI) was established in 2010 by Chen Hui and is a part of Ningbo Zhicheng School, established in 1996. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and is an authorized IB World School; the first IB World School in Zhejiang Province.[1] NZS is able to take both mainland Chinese students and international students. In 2014, the school adopted the name: International School of Ningbo. The name change is reflective of a programatic shift to an American AERO (American Education Reaches Out) curriculum based on the United States Common Core State Standards. The school utilizes American textbooks and employs teachers primarily from the United States. Cavon Ahangarzadeh serves as the founding Head of School for the International School of Ningbo.

NZSI operates as a division of Ningbo Zhicheng School and both share the same campus and facilities. Both schools are authorized to deliver educational programmes in China.

In 2010, NZSI gained authorization from the International Baccalaureate (IB) for the IB Diploma Programme. It also operates an international academic program (IAP) course to allow students whose English needs development, to be able to access the DP.

NZSI is now known as the International School of Ningbo (ISN). ISN is modeled after premier college preparatory schools located within the United States. ISN follows the AERO (American Education Reaches Out) curriculum based on the US Common Core State Standards (CCSS+); is an authorized IB World School. The four core areas of instruction are English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
