Nokha is a city and a notified area in Rohtas district in the Indian state of Bihar. The economic situation of this region is mainly dependent on parboiled rice processed by number of rice mills in this area.
Demographics
As of 2011 India census,[2] Nokha had a population of 32,338. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Nokha has good literacy rate of 70%, male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 52%. In Nokha, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Economy
Nokha is famous in Bihar as a major center for production of parboiled rice though the number of rice mills. Though, rice milling still continues to be a major economic activities but economic activities are also getting diversified now with increasing awareness. If you categorise economically rich small cities Nokha is among them. Nowadays many good schools and colleges have been opened. Now many students are going abroad as well as inter state to do professional courses (Engineering & Medical). Bihar celebrates Chath Puja very well and Nokha is also famous for Chatha Puja festivals. Here all the people irrespective of their religion celebrate this festival together. And not only this, people here celebrate all the festivals together.
