North Glen Ellyn is a suburban village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States.[1] The village is adjacent to its larger counterpart, Glen Ellyn. The village was brought into incorporation in January 2016. The population is estimated to be around 9,488.

History

North Glen Ellyn was formerly part of the much larger town, Glen Ellyn which is located just south of the village's limits. It was incorporated as a village in January 2016. Residents had petitioned to split from Glen Ellyn in 2009, but the process took over six years to finalize. North Glen Ellyn has a volunteer Fire Department, but shares a police force with Addison. The downtown area is small, and generally defined as the shopping area of North Main Street, just north of the Glen Ellyn Downtown North Historic District.

Demographics

Based on findings in the 2010 Census, the population is estimated to be 9,488.
