Nanganallur Road is a Metro railway station on the Line 1 of the Chennai Metro, which is currently under construction. The station is among the elevated stations coming up along corridor I of the Chennai Metro, Washermanpet–Chennai International Airport stretch. The station will serve the neighbourhoods of Alandur , Nanganallur and St. Thomas Mount, among others.
Construction
The construction work of the station has been awarded to URC Construction Company Private Limited, Erode.[1]
The station
The station is elevated although the stretch between the station and the Meenambakkam station dips below the ground for a brief distance to negotiate the air funnel area of the second runway of the airport.[1]
