Pakistani hip hop is a music genre in Pakistan, with the Rap Engineers being the pioneers of the Hip hop/Rap movement in the South Asia. The trio blends the eastern classical music with rap and have claimed the throne as the undisputed kings of Hip hop in Asia.
By the middle of the decade, hip hop artists of Pakistani origin such as California based Bohemia,[1] Netherlands-based Imran Khan and Waqas Ali Qadri of the Danish band Outlandish had started exploring lyrics in Punjabi.
Other artists include Detroit-born Lazarus, Adil Omar from Islamabad, S.T.T. (Saber Toothed Tiger), Desi Machines Zayn ul Abidin and Zain Shah and Faris Shafi and Osama Com Laude from Lahore.
Most recently, comedian Ali Gul Pir, Kunwer Azlan,[2]Young Stunners[3] and Rap Busters ( Ali, Naib, Huzaif) Hashim Ishaq have come out of the Karachi music scene with their singles Waderai Ka Beta, "Taroo Maroo", "Muffte", "SelfiePhobia", "Mera Pakistan","Burger e Karachi", "Baap Ki sarkar", "Maila Majnu","Laam Se Chaurha", "New Entry","Hayyat","Straight Outta Karachi" and "Dar" Their rapid-fire lyrics using Karachi street slang are seen as a sign of growth of the genre in the country.[4]
