Rise Heart is the second live album of the Filipino worship band Victory Worship, a worship team from Philippine church Victory[5] which is passionate about making music that honors God and inspires people to know and follow Jesus,[6] the follow-up to its gold-selling debut release, “Radical Love”. Rise Heart was recorded live in Manila, Philippines on July 21–23, 2015. The album was released on October 20, 2015, as well as the music video for "Dance In Freedom" and "Rise Heart" on YouTube.[7] On March 5, 2016, during the church's Discipleship Training 2016, Rise Heart was certified gold by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. This was the band's second consecutive gold certification after their debut live album.

Background

“’Rise Heart’ is a call to worship,” says Pastor Julius Fabregas, Victory Worship’s Executive Director. “We want our songs to inspire people to know and follow Jesus, and we believe ‘Rise Heart’ will touch people’s hearts in a very special way to lead them in that direction.”

Radical Love,” which was released in September 2014, was certified gold by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. It spawned the number one radio singles “Radical Love,” “Grace Changes Everything,” and “Jesus My Savior.” Meanwhile, the music videos from “Radical Love” have collectively earned more than two million views on YouTube.

Rise Heart,” which was recorded live at the Every Nation Building in Taguig City, contains 13 tracks, including six tracks penned by Victory Worship’s colleagues at Every Nation Music, which produces music that creatively expresses passion for Jesus and the mission, vision, and values of Every Nation.

Among the tracks are the radio singles “Rise Heart,” featuring The Voice of the Philippines season 1 quarterfinalist Isa Fabregas, and “Dance in Freedom,” written and sung by Yan Asuncion, who co-wrote “Radical Love.”[8]

Musicality and Lyrics

The musicality and lyrical elements of each song are crafted, both from their devotion and theological visions about the Gospel. And being in one heart and one passion for Jesus, Victory Worship took their standards higher. As they collaborate with some music producers from Nashville, TN Danny Duncan a well-known music producer who worked with worship bands like Israel Houghton & The New Breed, Darlene Zschech, etc.[9]

The title track "Rise Heart" was written by Isa Fabregas, James Murrell, Rachel Murrell, and William Murrell. It is about what it feels and means to come alive because of the sacrifice and resurrection of Christ. They said, "all of us were created to worship Him, and this song offers us the opportunity to come together in praise of a loving and merciful Savior." [10]

"Reign Forever" was written by Elle Cabiling and AJ Jiao together with Chino Celeste & Ian Tumaliuan. It's about not to worry on what comes our way because God is sovereign and He reigns forever. Song leader Cathy Go also believes the message of "Reign Forever" is an important one to declare in our lives.[11]

"Dance In Freedom" was written by Victor Asuncion. It's about how Jesus Christ gave us victory and freedom when He gave up His life on the cross.[12]

Reception

Ganns posted in a blog about the song, "Dance In Freedom", he said that "It’s so solid for radio" and "irresistible".[13]

Dennis "Big Daddy" Poliquit, a radio DJ[14] gave a review on Rise Heart. He said that throughout the 23 years he spent on FM radio, he always looked for the “singability” in new tracks to fairly predict its chances of being a hit. He quoted "Rise Heart does not disappoint."

He also gave reviews on the tracks on the album. He posted "Dance in Freedom" "had that fun sound. Pretty energetic. Something the kids would be jumping up and down to while it’s being played." He also praised Isa Fabregas' vocals on title-track "Rise Heart" saying "the way she attacks the song, brings about a “chest exploding” feeling" and "touches the heart and brings about so many emotions" and also on "Lay It Down" calling it "head-bobbing ear worm that can play in your head all day long". He gave Lee Brown two thumbs up on "Lost Without You", quoted it as "head bobbing wonder" and "has a very huge LSS potential." He stated "Everlasting Glory" featuring Joseph Ramos "has that ability to hook your heart". Cathy Go’s "Reign Forever" "makes the song feel like the music bed for a movie climax when the hero finally rescues the damsel in distress."[15]
