Rogério de Sousa Gonçalves (born 1 October 1959) is a Portuguese football manager.[1] [2]

Coaching career

Gonçalves started his managerial career off with his local Viana do Castelo club Lanheses in 1990 to 1992, where he curiously was coach and mentor of the most influential agent in world, Jorge Mendes. Rogerio moved his way up to bigger and better clubs every season in Portuguese football to the Liga de Honra and Portuguese Liga' he was known as the "promotion" coach due to promoting almost every club he coached such as Lanheses, Limianos, Vianense, Varzim and Chaves. Rogerio Gonçalves also coached Naval, Leixões, Sporting de Braga, Beira Mar and Académica de Coimbra in the Portuguese Top Division between 2000 & 2011. Gonçalves has spent the last two years in Mozambique, leading Ferroviário de Nampula to a record second-place finish last season in the Moçambola. As he is known for, Gonçalves has transformed Ferroviário from a modest Second Division team to a title contender in First Division of Mozambique.
