Rozaimi Abdul Rahman (born 11 June 1992 in Bongawan, Papar, Malaysia), is a Malaysian footballer who is currently playing for Johor Darul Ta'zim F.C. as a striker. He previously played for Sarawak FA, Selangor FA and Sabah FA.

Rozaimi is a Malaysian international and made his debut for the country against Sri Lanka in 2012. He shot to national prominence when he scored 10 goals in 5 appearances in the 2013 AFC U-22 Asian Cup qualification tournament while playing for the under-23 team, making him top scorer of the competition. He is considered as one of top ten Asian players of 2012 by ESPN Soccernet.[2]

Club career

Rozaimi began his career with Sarawak in 2010.[3][4] He return to Sabah in 2011 and made his Super League debut in 2–1 defeat against Terengganu. He scored his first Super League goal in away 1–1 draw against Perak.

Rozaimi, along with Sabah President Cup squad, as Sabah U-23 squad, also played in the 2012 Sukma Games football tournament in Pahang, where he and the team achieved gold medal when they defeat Perak 3–0 in the final after extra time. Rozaimi himself scored in the final, and also helped to create the 2 other goals.[5]

He agreed to join Selangor FA on a 3-month loan for their 2012 Malaysia Cup campaign in August 2012, as Sabah failed to qualify for that tournament.[6] On 4 September 2012, He score his first goal for Selangor against Pahang.

Rozaimi join Harimau Muda A for 2013 season for a loan and went back for Sabah FA for 2014–2015 season. Rozaimi ended his contract with Sabah FA after the 2015 season and now are looking for a new team to play with. The search of team for Rozaimi to play is handled by his manager for the next season.

International career

Under-23

On July 2011, Rozaimi receive his first national called up from Ong Kim Swee for an exhibition match against Chelsea.[7] He received his second call up for Olympic qualification match against Syria.[8] He made appearances as a substitute.[9] Rozaimi was included in the squad for 2013 AFC U-22 Asian Cup qualification. He scored four goals in the 7–0 win over the Philippines on 25 June.[10] He also scored two goal against Chinese Taipei under 22. On 30 June match between Malaysia and Vietnam, amazingly he became a hatrick hero hence making him the new shining star of Young Tigers. Malaysia won the match by 3–0. In the last group G match, he scored a late consolation goal from penalty spot in the 1–2 loss to Myanmar. Malaysia failed to advance to the finals but Rozaimi ended the Qualifying round as top scorer with 10 goals, attracting scouts from BEC Tero Sasana and SC Beira Mar.

Rozaimi was born in Bongawan, Sabah. On 6 July 2015, he was seriously injured in an accident in Kota Kinabalu.[12]
