Rudolf von Bünau (6 May 1915 – 15 August 1943) was a highly decorated Major in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. von Bünau was killed on 15 August 1943 south of Roslavl. He was posthumously promoted to Major. His father was General der Infanterie Rudolf von Bünau who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves.
