Santo vs. The Clones (Spanish: Santo Contra Los Clones) is a Cartoon Network Latin American original animated series dating back to 2004, and consist of 5 short episodes. It was weekly aired every Wednesday nights at 8:00 PM only and exclusively in Mexico.[1] Created by Carlo Olivares Paganoni, who already made in the same year the short pilot Bobots, this series is an homage to the legendary defunct Luchador wrestler enmascarado and film actor Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta (better known as El Santo). His son, El Hijo del Santo, serves as developer.
In 2007, was announced that its international series version is in development at Cartoon Network Studios,[2][3] but was eventually released in 2008 as an unaired pilot entitled Mask of Santo.[4]
Plot
Set in Mexico City, the series follows the adventures of the homonym wrestler in the role of a superhero who must try to stop the plans of Dr. Clone, an evil scientist. He is determined once again to kill him creating clones, figured in his old enemies (thanks to their DNA), and to use it to dominate the world.
