The Shangri-La at the Fort is a mixed-used building in Bonifacio Global City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The building will host a hotel and residential space.[6][7] At 250m tall, upon completion, it will become one of the tallest skyscrapers in the Philippines.
Design
US-based Handel Architects is the design architect of the building and Hirsch Bedner Associates will undertake the interior design for hotel guestrooms, hotel residences and the hotel public areas.[7]
The structural design is being performed by DeSimone Consulting Engineers. The design is being completed using an earthquake engineering design philosophy called Performance Based Design (PBD).
Facilities
Guestrooms will start at 48 square metres (520 sq ft) for a standard room. The hotel will feature over 4,600 square metres (50,000 sq ft) of meeting and banqueting facilities including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 11 function rooms, boardroom, business center, individual teleconferencing room and a 350-square-metre (1,148-square-foot) high-end outdoor event area.[3][7] Sir Robert Kuok, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts chairman, also announced during the groundbreaking ceremonies that the hotel shall house what will become Manila’s largest ballroom with a floor area of 1,800 square metres.[4]
