Shohratgarh is a tehsil and nagar panchayat in Siddharthnagar district within Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and adjacent to Nepal.
Demographics
As of 2001, the India census has stated that the population of Shohratgarh is 8,336.[1]
Males constitute about 52 percent of the total population and females 48 percent. The literacy rate of Shohratgarh is about 60 percent, higher than the national average of 59.5 percent. Male literacy is 67 percent, and female literacy is 51 percent. In Shohratgarh, 17 percent of the population is under six years of age. It is a minority dominated area. There is a palace in Shohratgarh belongs to Raja of Shohratgarh. Shivpati College is also here.
Transport
Shohratgarh railway station (station code–SOT) is located on the way to Gorakhpur from Gonda via loop line, an earlier meter gauge that has since been converted to broad gauge Indian Railway and Buddhist circuit road, the transport facility of Uttar Pradesh.

The agriculture related products are found in the market at large for business and trade. Several shops are located in the middle of this town for marketable purpose. The money transactions are done through various banks:

- Punjab National Bank is situated in the premises of Shiva Pati PG College (Behind the Shohratgarh Railway station).

Social activities
Shohratgarh Environmental Society (SES) is a well-known organization located in the town that advocates for environmental protection. SES also works on issues of agriculture, livelihood, health, education, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene.
