Harry Eugene (Sid) Varney (December 22, 1927 – November 25, 2011) was an American football coach in the United States.[1][2]
Coaching career
Varney was the head college football coach for the Elon Phoenix located in Elon, North Carolina. He held that position for 7 seasons, from 1953 until 1959.[3] His coaching record at Elon was 24 wins, 36 losses and 2 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2013 season, this ranks him #11 at Elon in total wins and #14 at the school in winning percentage (.403).[4][5]
