Slovenská pošta, a. s. (literally Slovak Post) is a state-owned company responsible for providing postal service in Slovakia established on January 1, 1993 when Slovakia became an independent state. It operates 1,566 post offices throughout the country.[1] It is also the third largest employer in Slovakia. Since 1996, the headquarters are located in Banská Bystrica.[1]
