2014 FIFA World Cup Coverage

This was the largest event on the sporting calendar that Sport360° had followed, landing several interviews with key players from the major international teams. There were interviews with Lionel Messi[1] regarding his feelings on the tournament and his stance on football, an exclusive interview with Uruguayan player Luis Suarez[2] about his thoughts on his home team, their opponents in the world cup and his development as a player by playing in the English Premier League.

The newspaper got an interview with Brazilian striker Neymar,[3] exploring certain facets of football and his perception of success in Brazil. Their last interview with a key player in the world cup was with German team captain Philipp Lahm[4] who led his compatriots to victory in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, expressed his faith in his team in regards to their tactical and technical ability on the pitch.

As a developing company, the FIFA World Cup was a pivotal moment as there were many events organised by Sport360 across the United Arab Emirates. Spectator interviews were carried out, match predictions and breakdowns made, a live scoreboard was set up over the major highway in Dubai and the newspaper worked closely with Budweiser to promote their fan zones.
