The Leonardo is a building development property that, when completed, is expected to be the tallest building in Sandton, exceeding 150 metres (490 ft).The building was announced to be built on Maude street directly next to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in Sandton, South Africa and shortly after excavations were done. It was also proposed that the building be over 223 metres (732 ft), the height of the current tallest building in South Africa but the height has not been confirmed yet.[1][2]

It was announced that the six 3 floor pent houses will sell for R180 million. The entire structure will cost R2 billion and consist of 200 apartments.[3][4]

The development will also involve a few shops, a swimming pool, a restaurant and several other facilities.[5]

The design has changed significantly since it was announced and was originally scheduled to be designed by AMA architect firm and be completed by 2010.[6][7]

On 17 November 2015, the Leonardo began construction.[8]
