Tirwaganj is a town and a Town Area in Kannauj district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Tirwaganj had a population of 20,229. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Tirwaganj has an average literacy rate of 6.7%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 0.73%, and female literacy is 6.1%. In Tirwaganj, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The 3rd biggest medical college in Asia named as "Rajkiya Medical College, Kannauj" is there. There is one old famous Inter College as D.N.Inter College, started in 1923, with a magnificent college building and hostel founded by King Durga Narayan Singh, located near Annapurna Mandir.

Spiritual Importance

There are two temples which are very important spiritually. 1-Annpurna Temple 2-Dauleshwar Temple

Annpurna temple is related to the deity Annpurna whereas the Dauleshwar temple is related to the God Shiv. These are supposed as Nagar Dev and Nagar Devi also.
