To Kwa Wan Station
To Kwa Wan is a station under construction on the East West Corridor of the Sha Tin to Central Link in Hong Kong. It will serve the Kowloon City, Ma Tau Wai and northern To Kwa Wan area. Although the station is not at the central of To Kwa Wan, It is named after the area around the northern end of To Kwa Wan Road. It will be located near Olympic Avenue and Sung Wong Toi Playground. The station is expected to open in early 2018, the station is currently 43% completed. It has been progressing faster by Samsung Hsin Chong joint venture. Site formation has been completed and excavators are excavating to the station platform and concourse, In March 2015, MTR has launched Princess Wencheng TBM underneath the station and she has to drill 1.6km towards Ho Man Tin station passing through Ma Tau Wai station. Piling works has been completed with station structural works then to follow after platform excavation is completed
Location
The original KCR plans had the station near the intersection of Sung Wong Toi Road and To Kwa Wan Road in the old Kai Tak Airport tarmac, but it has since been relocated near the junction of Ma Tau Chung-Argyle Street and Prince Edward Road West near Sung Wong Toi Playground.[1] The location will be roughly at the west end of the old airport terminal footprint and start of runway 13/31. Technically the station is located closer to Ma Tau Kok than To Kwa Wan. The new station location will be surrounded by the Kai Tak Development area.
Exits
- Exit A will be located north of the station
- Exit B will be located at Nam Kok Road that provide a pedestrian subway across Olympic Garden and Sung Wong Toi Playground
- Exit C will be located at the Pak Tai Street
- Exit D will be located south of the station
