Plot
Notorious counterfeiter "100 Dollar Bill" Bailey, has eluded police capture for fifteen years. He brazenly passes himself off as Secret Service agent Charles Gilbert (Willard Robertson) to Steve McBride (Barton MacLane) and Captain McTavish, and recruits police help in what they think will be a sting operation at the local racetrack to catch Bailey. Torchy Blane (Glenda Farrell) is annoyed at her fiancée Detective Steve McBride, when he keeps her in the dark about the counterfeit ring that he and Gilbert are tracking down.
Gilbert plans to pass off and launder his phony bills for the real thing at the Hollywood Race Track, together with a number of his accomplices posing as horse bettors. McBride's friend and chauffeur Gahagan (Tom Kennedy) is at Hollywood Race Track with a foolproof system, involving higher mathematics, that he uses to almost break the track. This draws attention to him, by not only the counterfeiters and race-track officials, but also by Torchy, who's at the track tracking down McBride.
Torchy, Gahangen, and a German Shepard named Blitzen from a local pet store is hold captive by the counterfeit ring as hostage. Both Torchy and Gahagan is tied up to a nitroglycerin bomb, set to go off at any moment. Blitzen escaped the counterfeit ring, and lead McBride together with a squad of police and Gilbert to the gang's hiding place. Gilbert, not wanting to be at the place where the bomb is set to go off, is forced not only to reveal his true identity to McBride, but also where the bomb is and when it's about to detonate. Torchy and Gahagan are rescued by McBride, and Gilbert is arrested.
