20th Century Fox World is an upcoming movie inspired theme park currently under construction in Genting Highlands (Resorts World Genting), Malaysia. The park will become the first 20th Century Fox theme park in the world and the first in Asia upon its expected completion and opening in 2017.

History

The previous name of 20th Century Fox World is the Genting Outdoor Theme Park.

Development history

20th Century Fox World was first announced on 26 July 2013.[1][2]

Park design

The park will be 25 acres in size and will feature roughly 25 thrill rides and attractions based on films and franchises like Rio, Ice Age, Life of Pi, Night at the Museum, Planet of the Apes, Alien vs. Predator and Titanic.[1][2][3]

Competition

The 20th Century Fox World will have tough competition with nearby movie inspired theme parks such as Universal Studios (also owned and operated by Genting, a case of cannibalization) and Hong Kong Disneyland.
