Vanasthalipuram is a very busy commercial and residential hub in the L. B. Nagar zone of Hyderabad. It is located towards (Vijayawada) and Nagarjuna Sagar highway roads. During the rule of the Nizam of Hyderabad, the area was a dense forest with wild animals and famous as a hunting ground, hence the name Vanasthalipuram (Vana="forest"+sthali="place"+puram-a locality or site). Vanasthalipuram derived its name from Harini Vanasthali, an Deer Park located beside national highway. It was originally known as Shikharghar but when a housing colony was constructed near by, it was named as Vanasthalipuram by Andhra Pradesh working class staying in the community. Hastinapuram was Due to its serene surroundings and real estate cost, the place has become one of the preferred residential areas for people working in the city. Vanasthalipuram till late 1980s have been an untouched locality to the residents of Hyderabad, but the Government projects for allotment of Houses through Public auction and Houses to the Non-Gazetted officers of the Government department at a very competitive rate have all of a sudden created tens of thousand living community in this area, thus laying the foundation of Today's Vanasthalipuram. Many top IT employer buses, like Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra Satyam, Convergys, IBM, CapGemini, Keane, Google, S&PCapital IQ etc. come to pick the employees from this area and many top Engg. College buses also pick up their students from here. Here people are very calm going and affectionate with each other.
Transport
Asia's Largest suburb Vanasthalipuram is well connected with all parts of the city by means of public transport. Around 250 TSRTC buses ply from the area. All the private, and RTC buses towards Vijayawada route stop here. LB Nagar will be the nearest station of Hyderabad Metro Train which is currently under construction. Metro Train will be extended to Vanasthalipuram under Phase-II.

Mahavira Harina Vanasthali (deer park), Saheb Nagar Trinetra Hanuman Temple, Venkateswara Swamy temple, Ganesh Temple are some of the attractions of this area. Tourist attractions and entertainment areas like Ramoji Film City, and Mount Opera are located within 10 – 15 km of Vanasthalipuram, on the highway. A historical Mosque of Nizam times "DOMINAR" is situated within a radius of 6 km.A very old Banyan tree can be seen in the park at the backside of Rythu Bazar which is very famous in the locality with a temple nearby it where occasional poojas will be performed on festival days.An e-seva centre is located near the Red water Tank in NGO's Colony.
"Trishakthi Devasthanam" Located in Hariharpuram Colony adjacent to SKD Nagar at BN Reddy Nagar: The three temples for presiding deities Goddess Sri Saraswathi Devi, Goddess Sri Durga Devi and Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi have come up in front of a natural lake known as "Kapparaya Cheruvu" or "Kappala Cheruvu" spread over in 13 Acres stretch as a jewel in the crown of Vanasthalipuram.es.
