Velký Týnec is a village and municipality (obec) in Olomouc District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic.
The municipality covers an area of 20.6 square kilometres (8.0 sq mi), and had a population of 2,240 (as at 3 July 2006).
Velký Týnec lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) south-east of Olomouc and 218 km (135 mi) east of Prague.
