Club career

Born in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Gómez made his debuts as a senior with AD Huracán in 2007. In the 2009 summer, he moved to UD Las Palmas; initially assigned to the C-team, he spent the entire season with the reserves in Tercera División.

On 22 June 2010, Gómez was definitely promoted to the main squad.[1] On 1 September he made his professional debut, starting and scoring his team's second in a 3–5 away loss against Real Valladolid for the campaign's Copa del Rey.[2]

Gómez made his league debut three days later, coming on as a second-half substitute for David González in a 0–0 away draw against SD Huesca for the Segunda División championship.[3] On 24 September 2011 he scored his first goals in that level, netting a brace in a 2–4 loss at Girona FC – he was also sent off later in the same match.[4]

On 8 June 2012, Gómez signed a new four-year contract with the Amarillos, running until 2016.[5] He appeared in 31 matches and scored three goals during the 2014–15 season, as his side returned to La Liga after 13 years.

Gómez made his debut in the main category of Spanish football on 22 August 2015, replacing Hernán in a 0–1 away loss against Atlético Madrid.[6]
