Warriewood Square (previously known as Centro Warriewood) is a medium-sized shopping centre in Warriewood, a suburb in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Opened in 1981, Warriewood Square is a single storey shopping centre with a large multi-storey carpark (which opened in 2015).

Warriewood Square is currently owned by Vicinity Centres (50%) and ISPT Super Property (50%).[1] The nearest major competing shopping centre is Westfield Warringah Mall located in Brookvale. Making Warriewood Square the second largest shopping centre on the Northern Beaches.

History

Warriewood Square opened in 1981 and included over 30 stores. The centre included a Kmart, Coles and Woolworths. On March 1996, the centre was bought by Centro Properties Group for $38million which the name changed to Centro Warriewood.[2] In 1999 the centre was redeveloped and 55 new stores were added. On 22 January 2013 Warriewood Square was owned by Federation Limited and the name changed back to Warriewood Square on 8 November 2014.[3]

Redevelopment

Since 13 March 2015 Warriewood Square is currently undergoing an $84 million redevelopment.[4] The centre will be extended by 7,500m² and will include a multi-storey carpark, a new look Kmart, expanded Woolworths and around 35 new stores. Warriewood Square will also have two additional mini majors and an Aldi store.[5] The redevelopment is expected to be completed by June 2016.
