Weatherstone is a "new urban development"[1] community inside West Vincent Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, which is considered part of Chester Springs and Ludwigs Corner. It is a community developed by the Hankin Group which also developed the nearby Eagleview Town Centre in Exton. The community is developed as a "... cozy village nestled in the rolling farmlands of Chester Springs, Weatherstone is located near the intersection of Route 401 and 100 in West Vincent Township, four miles from the Downingtown Turnpike Interchange."[2] What is notable about the location is that it is one of the few new developments using "... neotraditional neighborhoods and conservation lands to create a township-wide network of open space ."[3] Stevens, in his book on a study of how to make communities safer in new urban developments uses Weatherstone, along with Eagleview, as sample data for comparing amount of green space for every acreage of development.[4] The community was listed in volume 6 of the New Urban News as an example of this new type of housing development.[5] There are "... plans to build ... a town center with shops and a restaurant, similar to those at Eagleview, its sister development community in nearby Exton, which features luxury condominiums." Eagleview is also a mixed use community with "walkable streets."[2]
