White Sands Shopping Centre (Chinese: 白沙购物中心) is a shopping mall in Pasir Ris, Singapore next to Pasir Ris MRT as well as the Pasir Ris Bus Interchange. Opened in 1997, it has five levels of retail outlets with a basement.

History

Developed by OCBC Retail Assets, White Sands was the first major mall in Pasir Ris upon its completion in 1997. Like a typical suburban mall at the time, it had an Eng Wah cinema, a Timezone arcade (the largest in Singapore as of that point), a John Little department store, a Courts store, a Popular bookstore and an NTUC Fairprice supermarket.

In 1999, the cinema and arcade were closed and were replaced by retail outlets and the Pasir Ris Public Library respectively.

The mall did not undergo any major renovations until 2007, when more stores were opened and its facade was repainted blue, after having been bought over by ARMF Pte Ltd. John Little was replaced by several smaller stores, and the food court was relocated to the 3rd floor, taking up the space initially occupied by Courts. The library on the 4th floor was retained as it served the local residents. The entire carpark at Basement 1 was converted to retail space and travelators were installed to link it to Basement 2.

The mall has once again begun undergoing renovations in 2014, and is expected to complete in end 2015, with a new tenant mix and an enhanced blue facade.
