Women's World Chess Championship 2016 (knock-out)
The Women's World Chess Championship 2016 is an upcoming knock-out tournament, to decide a new women's world champion. It is the second world championship held in 2016, after the Maria Muzychuk vs. Hou Yifan match in March 2016.
The tournament will be played as a 64-player knockout type from 11 to 31 October 2016. The venue is not yet announced.

The players are selected through national chess championships, Zonal tournaments and continental chess championships.[1]
