The Yuriy Ivanov-class (Project 18280) is a new type of Russian intelligence collection ship. The first ship, the Yuriy Ivanov, was laid down in 2004 and was launched on 30 September 2013. Russia plans to build three more ships in this class by 2020.[1] The ship is designed by the JSC "Central Design Bureau Iceberg". The displacement of the ship - more than 4,000 tons, the cruising range - not less than 8 thousand miles, the crew - 120 people. The vessel, which is designed for providing communication, equipped with light anti-aircraft weapons. The ship on its performance characteristics and capabilities is considerably superior to similar vessels of previous generations. Its main feature - the versatility and high level of automation and systems integration.[2]
