The 1938 Railway Cup Hurling Championship was the twelfth series of the Railway Cup, an annual hurling tournament and organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The tournament took place between 20 February and 17 March 1938.

Three team teams participated in the inaugural championship. These included three of the four historic provinces of Ireland, Connacht, Leinster and Munster

The tournament was won by Munster.
