The 1998–99 NBA season was Toronto's fourth season in the team's franchise.[1] In the 1998 NBA Draft, the Raptors selected Antawn Jamison out of the University of North Carolina with their fourth overall pick. However, they traded Jamison to the Golden State Warriors for his UNC teammate Vince Carter, who is also Tracy McGrady's cousin. During the regular season, the Raptors moved into their new arena Air Canada Centre. The Raptors finished the season with a 23-27 record, sixth in the Central Division. Carter was named Rookie of the Year.
