The 2000-01 Cleveland Cavaliers season was the 31st season of NBA basketball in Cleveland, Ohio. After missing the playoffs for two straight seasons, the Cavaliers decided to rebuild trading Shawn Kemp to the Portland TrailBlazers. The Cavaliers got off to a strong start winning their first four games on their way to a solid 15-7 start. However, they would struggle and lose 23 of their next 28 games, finishing the season with a disappointing 30-52 record, 6th in the Central Division. Andre Miller led the team in scoring, assists and steals.
