The 2002–03 New York Knicks season was the 57th season for the team in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Knicks missed the NBA Playoffs for the second straight year,^[1] finishing tied for fifth in the Atlantic Division with a 37–45 record.^[2] Following the season, Latrell Sprewell was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.^[3]

Roster notes

• C Mark Pope was on the team roster, but he did not play a game during the season.^[4]
• F Antonio McDyess, who was acquired from the Denver Nuggets in a trade for Nenê Hilario, whom the Knicks drafted in the 2002 NBA Draft, Marcus Camby, and point guard Mark Jackson,^[5] missed the entire season due to a knee injury.^[6]
