The 2015–16 season is Football Club Internazionale Milano's 84th consecutive season in the top-flight of Italian football. Having finished 8th the previous season, Inter will compete only in domestic competition, in Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Season overview

June

• 3 June: Third-choice goalkeeper Tommaso Berni agrees to extend his contract by 12 months. His new deal deal expires on 30 June 2016.^[2]
• 19 June: Inter announce the return of Dejan Stanković as First Team Club Manager.^[3]
• 22 June: Inter announce their first signing of the new season and that they had beat Milan for the signing Geoffrey Kondogbia from Monaco on a five-year contract for around €28 million plus bonuses.^[4][5][6]
• 25 June: Inter announce co-ownership deal settlements; most notably, Marco Benassi was resolved in favor of Torino while Matteo Bianchetti was resolved in favor of Inter, though Bianchetti moved on loan to Verona.^[7]
• 30 June: Inter announce Andrea Ranocchia and Juan Pablo Carrizo extended their contracts, the former until 2019^[8] and the latter until 2017.^[9]

Inter sold Zdravko Kuzmanović to Basel.^[10]

Inter signed Miranda on a one-year loan deal for €3 million, with the option to buy at the end of the season for an additional €9 million, valid through to 2018.^[11][12][13]

July

• 2 July: Inter sold Joel Obi to Torino for €2.4 million ^[14][15]
• 3 July: Inter announce Martín Montoya has joined the club on loan from Barcelona, with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.^[16]

• 7 July: Inter announce Rubén Botta has permanently joined Mexican club Pachuca.^[18]
• 10 July: Inter announce Jonathan Biabiany has signed a four-year contract with the club.^[19]
• 11 July: The Nerazzurri beat Stuttgarter Kickers 4–3 in Riscone di Brunico to kick off the 2015–16 season with a win^[20]
• 13 July: Isaac Donkor has moved to Bari on a season-long loan, with Bari having the option to make the deal permanent while Inter hold a counter-option.^[21]
• 16 July: Lorenzo Crisetig has moved to Bologna on a two-year loan with a compulsory buyout clause.^[22][23]
• 18 July: Inter announce 25-man squad for china tour, including three goalkeepers, ten defenders, seven midfielders and five forwards.^[24]
• 19 July: Inter announce participation in the TIM Trophy after a two-year absence.^[25]
• 22 July: Francesco Bardi has moved to Espanyol on a season-long loan.^[26]
• 23 July: Inter announce Rene Krhin has permanently joined Spanish club Granada, signing a four-year deal.^[27]
• 31 July: Inter announce Stevan Jovetić has joined the club on loan from Manchester City for €3 million. The Nerazzurri have an obligation to make the deal permanent in January 2017.^[28]
• 31 July: Samuele Longo joins Frosinone on a season-long loan, with Frosinone having the option to make the deal permanent while Inter holds a counter-option.^[29]

August

• 1 August: George Pușcaș renews with Inter until 2020 and joins Bari on loan for the season, with Bari having the option to make the deal permanent while Inter holds a counter-option.^[30]
• 11 August: Xherdan Shaqiri signs for Stoke City for approximately €17 million, a record-high signing for Stoke.^[31]
• 18 August: Mateo Kovačić transfers to Real Madrid for €35 million, with a future bonus of €5 million contingent on appearances.^[32]
• 19 August: Stevan Jovetić switches his jersey number from 35 to 10 after the latter was vacated by Mateo Kovačić's departure.
• 29 August: Saphir Taïder joins Bologna for €4 million.^[33]
• 30 August: Inter announce the signing of Croatian forward Ivan Perišić from Wolfsburg for €16 million plus €4 million on future clauses contingent on appearances.
• 31 August: Inter sold Hernanes to Juventus for €11 million and loaned Marco Andreolli to Sevilla, also announcing the signing of three players: Felipe Melo and Alex Telles from Galatasaray and Adem Ljajić from Roma.
