In the south of the ancient village of Castel Campagnano, near the 18th century was discovered a church that is identified with the church of Sant’Angelo. The church of Sant’Angelo is still certified for 1326 and for 1464 as a chapel for the church of St. Peter. Probably in 1700 with the construction of the “Palazzo Ducale”. The church is supported by three pillars . The Altar was placed at the east wall, which is richest in paintings. On the right wall, top, is a prominent painting of the Madonna Enthroned with the child on the legs. On the left wall, there is a painting of St. Nicholas of Bari and the remains of a wider pictorial cycle, Sant’Angelo, ancient iconography clearly visible because it conforms with his left hand supporting a globe. The presence of this majestic figure allows us to assign the church in Sant’Angelo. On the back wall, on the left is a painting of Christ surrounded by two angels with a sword and other saints with a book.
