Chicago Justice
Chicago Justice (originally developed under the title Chicago Law) is an American drama television series in development for NBC. It is set to be the fourth element of the Chicago media franchise. The show was confirmed to be in development on January 21, 2016 and had a May 11 pilot.
Plot
Chicago Justice is partially based on historical events and finds its inception from a true story about two police officers who were ambushed while sitting in their patrol car.[1] The show focusses on the lawyers and prosecutors in Chicago.[2]
Casting
The cast came together in early 2016: Philip Winchester on February 19,[3] Nazneen Contractor on March 11,[4] Joelle Carter on March 14,[5] Carl Weathers on March 19,[6] and Ryan-James Hatanaka on March 24.[7]
History
Rumored to be in development on January 13, 2016 as a spinoff from Chicago P.D.,[8][9][10] the show was confirmed on January 21.[11][12] Filming began on March 28 for the pilot expected to air on May 11 as the episode 21 season 3 finale for Chicago P.D..[13] The show will crossover with the Law & Order franchise in the pilot episode.[14] The crossover includes a backstory in which Chicago Justice character and state's attorney's office prosecutor Peter Stone had put Chicago P.D. character Hank Voight in jail.[1][2]
