Presidential elections will be held in the Czech Republic in 2018, the second time the president has been elected directly. Incumbent president Miloš Zeman is eligible to run for a second term.

Potential candidates

	Miloš Zeman	Politician, current Czech President	The incumbent Czech president can run for the second term but he has not confirmed that he intends to do so. He indicated in February 2015 that he possibly won't run for re-election but noted that he will decide one year prior the election.[1]
	Zdeněk Škromach	Politician, former government minister (2002-2004)	Škromach announced plans to run in February 2015. He plans to gain support for his plans within his party, the ČSSD.[2]
	Tomáš Halík	Intellectual, Roman Catholic priest, scholar	When Zdeněk Škromach mentioned possibility of his candidature for the first time, Halík said - "If the country would to be represented by Škromach "in a pool",[note 1] then I would have to run too."[3]
	Václav Klaus	Politician, economist, former Czech President	The former President, Klaus has mentioned that he could possibly run if Halík will be a candidate without strong rival.[4]
	Jaroslav Kubera	ODS Politician, Mayor of Teplice and Senator	He said that he will run if there will be only candidates like Škromach.[5]
	Martin Stropnický	Actor, current Minister of Defence	Andrej Babiš, the leader of ANO 2011 said that Stropnický could be the candidate of the party in 2018.[6]
	Jiří Pospíšil	MEP and former Justice Minister	He mentioned that he considers to run in 2018.[7]
	Petr Pavel	Military officer, current Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Army and new Chairman of the NATO Military Committee	A Facebook Page Petr Pavel for President was established to convince General Pavel tor run for term. Pavel himself said that he doesn't currently intend to run but hasn't ruled it out as he appreciates and is pleased by the support he has from Citizens.[8]
	Jiří Vyvadil	A Lawyer and Politician who is known as a Chairman of Friends of Russia in the Czech Republic.	He publicly announced that he intends to run.[9]
