Dunaszekcső (Serbo-Croatian: Sečuv, Sečuj, Sečuh) is a village in Baranya County, Hungary. The city is on the right bank (i.e. the west side) of the Danube River. Residents are Magyars, with minority of Serbs and Danube Swabians.
History
In June 1700, Serbian Patriarch (in exile) Arsenije III held a church assembly in the town, which was known in Serbian as Sečuj.[2] Sečuj was one of centres of Serbian church-political life.[2] At the assembly, Danilo Šćepčević was officially chosen as the metropolitan of Montenegro (Cetinje).[2]
