Felix Rosenqvist (born 7 November 1991 in Värnamo) is a Swedish racing driver who is the reigning European Formula Three Champion, having won the title in 2015 with the Italian team Prema Powerteam. He holds the record of being the only one ever winning the Macau Grand Prix (twice), Masters of Formula 3 (twice), Grand Prix de Pau and the European Formula Three Championship.
Racing career
Rosenqvist won the 2008 Formula Renault 2.0 Asia and 2009 Formula Renault 2.0 Sweden.
In 2010 he was fifth German Formula Three Championship with 2 victories, 8 podiums and 1 pole position. He also attended the 2010 Macau Grand Prix Formula Three where he finished on ninth after have qualified seventh in his debut with the same Swedish/British racing team Performance Racing.
He has also competed in such series as Formula Palmer Audi and few different Formula Renault series where he was very successful and won 3 championship titles.
For 2011, he graduated to the Formula 3 Euro Series with the Mucke Motorsport team, where he finished 5th. In 2012 he finished fourth in the Formula 3 Euro Series and third at the FIA European Formula 3 Championship. In 2013 he was runner-up at the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.
In his fourth year with Mücke, the Swede finished eighth at the FIA F3 Championship. In 2015 he switched to Prema, claiming the FIA F3 Championship.
Also, Rosenqvist won the 2011 and 2013 Masters of Formula 3, as well as the Macau Grand Prix in 2014 and 2015.
In February 2016 he announced that he would compete in the 2016 Indy Lights series for Belardi Auto Racing,[1] and would also combine a campaign in the 2016 Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, sharing a Mercedes with Tristan Vautier, with a role as reserve driver for Mercedes in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.[2]
