Gugan (Persian: گوگان, also Romanized as Gūgān and Gāvgān; also known as Gāvkān)[1] is a city in and the capital of Gugan District, in Azarshahr County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 10,949, in 3,109 families.[2]
