Islami Oikya Jote

The Islami Oikya Jote (Bengali: ইসলামী ঐক্য জোট, Islami Oikko Joţ, "Islamic Unity Front") is a political party in Bangladesh. During the legislative elections of 1 October 2001, the party won 2 out of 300 elected members in an alliance with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. It was led by Ameer Allama Mufti Fazlul Huq Amini and Chairman Shaikul Hadith Allama Azizul Haq, both now are deceased. It has a focus on building an Islamic state, and has used the madrassas, or Islamic schools, to gain support. Alliance: Four Party Alliance
