Istočna Ilidža (Serbian Cyrillic: Источна Илиџа) is a municipality in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Istočna Ilidža is one of the six municipalities of the City of East Sarajevo (Serbian Cyrillic: Град Источно Сарајево). It was also known as Srpska Ilidža (Српска Илиџа), as well as Kasindo (Касиндо) and was created from part of the pre-war municipality of Ilidža (the other part of the pre-war municipality is now in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina). There have been some proposals for the municipality to be merged with that of Istočno Novo Sarajevo.[1]

According to the census of 2013, the population stands at 15,233 [2]

Sport

The local football club is FK Famos that competes in the First League of the Republika Srpska.
