Kukatpally is a major residential and commercial suburb in Hyderabad in the state of Telangana. It is located on the northwest fringe of Hyderabad city. Kukatpally, which was earlier a municipality, has been merged into Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC),[1] which is responsible for the civic amenities in Kukatpally.
New road connectivity and consequent proximity to the Information Technology hub of Hitech city has made Kukatpally area a functional, dream home.[2] It is segregated by medium as well as posh Phases, and Kukatpally Housing Board Colony developed by Andhra Pradesh Housing Board is considered to be the biggest colony in India and Asia. KPHB Colony, has highest population density in the state of Telangana.[3]
Commercial area
Kukatpally is a major shopping hub near the IT corridor. It is the abode of many businesses, of all sorts. The area is surrounded by many shopping malls like Manjeera Mall, Forum Sujana Mall, D-Mart, South India Shopping Mall etc. The Rythu bazaar is an addition for vegetable and fruit shopping.
Hospitals
Usha Mullapudi Cardiac Centre [4] which is well known for the cardiac facilities available and Akruti Institute of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery a well known celebrity plastic and cosmetic surgery centre[5] and some famous hospitals like Remedy, Anupama Hospitals, Vasan eye care, Prime, Icon, etc. are situated. The Road No.4 in KPHB known as Doctors Street is famous for hospitals.
Election Information
Kukatpally Constituency is a newly formed constituency.It is formed after delimitation of Khairtabad. 2009 Election is the first election in this constituency and Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan of Lok Satta Party won with 34.84% votes.
Madhavaram Krishna Rao of Telugu Desam party won the elections in 2014.[6]

Bus
Kukatpally is well connected to most locations of the city by the state-owned bus service, TSRTC (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation). Apart from the city buses many RTC and private operators run inter-city buses with Kukatpally and KPHB as starting point.
Rail
Kukatpally does not have a railway station for MMTS service . The closest ones are Hitech City, Borabanda and Bharat Nagar. However, there is Metro Rail project in progress that connects the city. Begumpet, Secunderabad and Nampally are the closest railway stations from Kukatpally for long distant trains.
Education
Kukatpally is a major educational hub with several degree colleges, junior colleges and schools. It is the home to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. It is also close the Bachupally where many reputed schools and colleges are located.
